What just happened to us? This was the most amazing culinary journey I've ever taken. We paired the tasting menu with the paired drink menu and the whole experience from start to finish was stunning. I would highly recommend a visit before this restaurant becomes so busy it's un-bookable.

We went to Lorea for my wife's 44th birthday and experienced the amazing tasting menu. We sat at the “kitchen table” bar where we were able to watch the chefs make every course. We got a detailed description of each thing we ate, despite the head chef being clearly busy running the kitchen and making meals. We never felt like he was rushing through the explanations. I'm not an overly adventurous eater (my wife is haha) but I went into this with an open mind, not overthinking what I was eating. And my GAWD the flavours, and textures. Just incredible. In addition to the set menu, we were provided a handful of extras. A pleasant surprise :) Each course has a perfectly sized portion so that you're able to enjoy the entirety. After we had eaten all of the courses, my wife went to the bathroom and the staff told me they had cake for her, to celebrate her birthday. We had already enjoyed several desserts and bonus courses, so I did not expect this last treat. Everybody we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and very courteous. They made us feel welcome and catered to. It was our last activity in Mexico City and, honestly, the perfect finale. I don't know if the menu stays the same for very long, but rest assured that whatever they come up with, it's likely to be delicious and well prepared.

A fantastic culinary experience! My wife booked this place for my birthday. They take local ingredients and highlight them in an upscale presentation. Each dish was a unique representation from multiple areas in Mexico. The staff was very knowledgeable and they couldn't have been more friendly. This is a great place for a special occasion. Michelin Star was spot on.

Came here for lunch and highly recommend! Really enjoyed the tomato salad, pork, and huitlacoche taco. Service was amazing and really enjoyed our time here!

My experience at Lorea was filled with delight from A to Z! I was looking for a place to place a Valentine’s Day dinner reservation, and serendipitously happened upon this spot. The food was so meticulously well thought out, and each course felt like a celebration of a traditional Mexican ingredient or dish. What made the experience extra special was our waitress, Luz Maria! She was so insightful in explaining the origin of each dish, the intention behind it’s flavor profiles, and how it was prepared. She even gave my partner and I a quiz at dessert! “There is one ingredient that I won’t tell you what it is. It’s a fruit and it should remind you of childhood.” After I took my third bite, I was suddenly brought back to a summertime barbecue, and taking one extra mouthful from a slice of watermelon. It was watermelon rind! She was clearly exceptionally passionate, and helped to make the dinner experience feel so special!

Excellent tasting menu, relaxing atmosphere and a memorable meal - good value considering the quality.

Nice restarant design. Small miscommunication at the beginning as there are people outside who are supposed to great you - but I just walked in. Food had some Mexican influence and overall was pleasant. I liked the bread course with shrimp/cheese tamale and shrimp taco the best for flavors. The birrias could have been more seasoned/more salty but the salsa was great! Spicy with a good kick. Dessert could have been bigger. A very thin slice of flan was served which left me wanting more. Very different than traditional American or French inspired fine dining as it didn’t feel as heavy walking away. I debated getting street tacos after.

Phenomenal chefs counter experience. Each dish was a perfect balance of familiar and unique, and the staff takes time to explain the origins of each as well as what they did to add their own signature. Most importantly, what differentiates Lorea is the ease and accessibility of the meal. Multi-course tasting menus can often leave me feeling overstuffed and at times physically uncomfortable by the end. This one is the ideal balance — each dish is light, but complex and the perfect amount to get a complete experience. It is inventive, interesting and still feels like a warm welcoming home. I truly felt like I was sitting in one of my close friend’s kitchens. One of the best meals I’ve had in the world and I would absolutely come back again and again and again.
